YOGA SENSEI is a truly bilingual English/Japanese Hatha Yoga Asana iPhone/iPad app making yoga easy to access and convenient to use in daily life. It provides guided yoga sets one can practice along with, asana flash cards as an educational reference tool, plus allows the creation of custom sets which makes it a great class planner for teachers. It is a product that stays true to traditional yoga instruction with openness to integrate newer yoga postures and movement.

This app has three basic functions.  They are intended to assist teachers, support students, as well as guide those who
may be completely new to yoga.

YOGA SENSEI makes practicing yoga at home or on the road easy. Sets are in 20min./40min./60min. increments to accommodate those times we need a quick fix as well as the days when we can delve into a longer practice. Just press play and a slideshow with audio instructions will guide you through the teacher-designed set. Learn sun salutations or do a morning routine, the variety of sets allow you to practice in the best way that suits your personal goals. New sets will be available with future updates.

Each flashcard in the library gives the asana names in English, Japanese and Sanskrit as well as detailed instructions on how to do the pose. There are currently 108 + asana from which to choose with more to come in future updates. This will support students who are learning about yoga asana either for personal or professional aims. The library is organized in traditional asana categories like standing, balancing, sitting, and lying with flashcards that are easy to swipe and scroll.

Teachers on-the-go will enjoy the ability to plan their class quickly and easily. If on the train or having tea, you can create your sets as the inspiration strikes. From the library, asanas are selected and put into a ‘sandbox‘ where they can be arranged by dragging them into the desired order. After saving the set, the teacher can bring it up when they need it and get an easy visual cue to the asana and their chosen order. This allows for more creativity and spontaneity without carrying anything more than your iPhone.

has been a teacher of yoga and meditation for the past 17 years. He has developed practice centers in Chicago, San Diego, Portland and Long Beach, and has worked with students all over the world. Miles specializes in the practical application of yoga in daily life, creating with his students intentional focus in health, education, creativity and community.
Miles offers teacher training through the World Evolution school of yoga. His current classes and workshops introduce the rich diversity of yoga styles and provide useful applications for practice in every day life.  Ultimately, as a teacher, Miles’ goal is to be an example of what he teaches as well as to create opportunities for students to deepen their own experience, understanding and connection to practice.
